What Causes Dime Size Blemishes On Face?

My 27-year-old daughter has suddenly developed dime size blemishes on her face. Could this be a side effect of street drugs? We know she has a drug problem. We are trying to determine what Drugs she is abusing so we can help her. Thank you, Concerned parents

Hello,

I can understand your concern for the dime size blemishes on face. After analyzing the query I can obtain that your daughter can have a possibility of “Fixed drug eruption”. It requires either a close picture or a close examination of the area to diagnosis the exact entity. As you have given a history of drug problem in your daughter so the possibility of “Fixed drug eruption” is on higher side.
I suggest you to observe the area for few days of period and if it increases then should consult a dermatologist.
In my patients with your kind of condition I generally suggest to do keep the area away from direct sunlight. I also prescribe a mild steroid based cream such as cortisone cream for local application. You can take further guidance from a dermatologist.
