What Causes Discharge Before Period Along With Abdominal Discomfort?

My period is due in 3 days. Today I passed a large (what looks like) a mucus plug that was pinkish grey in color and completely odorless. Only passed one, about the size of a quarter. Hasn t happened since. I ve been having lower abdominal discomfort intermittently the past 2 days and I also have not been having my usual PMS symptoms. I took a home pregnancy test and got a negative. Did I test too early? Could I be pregnant? Is there anything else it could be?

Hello,

Pink discharge before period is normal.

At this time blood is just beginning to flow. It may mix with other vaginal secretions on its way out of the vagina, diluting its red hue.

As you have already tested your self, it is very unlikely for you to be pregnant.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
