What Causes Discharge From Breasts With History Of Miscarriage?

I still have what looks like colostrum that can be expressed from both breasts. It only actually leaks if I m under warm water. My son is 8 years old now and I have had 2 miscarriages. One over 4 years ago and one about a year and a half ago. My last mammo was normal, outside of the hereditary cysts. Should I be worried that I am still producing after so long?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Nipple discharge in absence of pregnancy or lactation needs to be investigated.
The discharge could be due to excessive prolactin secretion.
Increased or excessive prolactin secretion is seen in disorders of pituitary gland.
Pituitary tumors are known to secrete hormones and prolactin is one of them.
Nipple discharge could be an indication of excessive prolactin secretion which in-turn could be due to pituitary tumor.
Prolactin level can also be raised in case of certain medication e.g. treatment of Parkinsonism.
Thus, consult a surgeon for clinical assessment, estimation of serum prolactin level and CT scan of head.

Thanks and take care
