What Causes Discharge From Left Breast?

last night i woke up about 4 AM and there were stains on my sheet where my left breast is. I was sleeping on my left side. I'm wondering if I'm leaking milk in my sleep? I'm not pregnant and have never seen this before. There were like 4 different stains of various sizes, one pretty big and it was wet like if you put a tablespoon of water on the sheet.

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. There might be discharge or milk secretion from the breasts. Milk secretion can occur in hormonal disturbances like hyperprolactemia. Discharge can occur in breast cancer.
If there is no breast lump or lymph nodes, then chances of cancer are very low. However, you should get yourself properly examined and investigated using mammography and serum prolactin levels by a doctor.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
