What Causes Discharge Of Small Hard Particles In The Stool?

I returned from Thailand 3 weeks agao. I ve noticed very small round white objects in my stool. They feel hard at first. but when crushed, stay flat. I ve also noticed an increase of pain in my knee joints and in the last day it has gotten much worse as today it hurts to even bend my left knee. I did see my doctor one week after returning on the 28th of Sept. As the white things in my stool were just noticed a day or 2 before then. She did a stool culture and I have just finished a 10 days on antibiotics. The small things are still in my stool and now I ve gotten really bad knee joint pain in the past 2 days and today it has become much worseasier as it s gotten very painful to even walk or bend my knees. Just worried, I will get with my Doctor tomorrow and let her know what is happening. Thank you.

Hi,

A common source of white specks in the stool is undigested food. Sometimes foods that are difficult to digest — like quinoa, nuts, seeds, high-fiber vegetables, and corn — can actually move through the digestive tract without fully digesting. This can cause small white flecks in the stool.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Monish De, Oncologist
