HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Dementia can cause a significant change in behavior, memory, understanding, ability to reason and think.
Some persons can be can become unusually aggressive.

The mother may have been told not to hit her daughter but she may not remember or even understand why that is not a good idea.
Talking may not help because her ability to understand, remember and reason is not present

The use of medication to decrease aggressive behavior may be helpful or she may need to have restricted access to her daughter.

I hope this helps
