Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Discoloration On The Hands After Applying Medosan Cream?
I purchased medosan age blemish cream. I used it only once and prepared to use again the same day. I noticed the darkened areas on the back of both hands became darker. The staining is still clearly visable. Why is this?
Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The cream which you have used contains natural active ingredient Asafoetida. But, since you have developed discoloration after its application, it indicates that you could be hyper-reactive to some of the ingredients contained in it. I would suggest you to discontinue its use immediately. You can apply moisturizer cream over the affected area. Gradually, the skin should be back to normal.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
