What Causes Discomfort And Burning Sensation In The Shoulder Joint?
yes, I have had great discomfort in my right shoulder joint that will awakwn me at night and can cause a burning discomfort in my right thumb or fingers during the night I can receive relief if I move muscles in shoulder to accommodate the pain. At times during the day I can have a stab of pain that goes through this area. not sure what doctor I need to see or what treatment to try. thanks
Very likely you are having a pinched nerve that is causing the pain that goes at the thumb and fingers. This is very common due to the nerve being squeezed at the neck area or while running down the arm due to muscular tension around. You will first need to see your PCP, he will examine you and might also ask for x-rays of the neck to better evaluate you.
If the neurological deficit is noticed he might refer you to a neurologist. Treatment by physiotherapy is helpful to avoid muscle strain and stress on the nerve. Painkillers are given as well.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
