What Causes Discomfort And Cracking Sound In Certain Leg Positions?

hello, i am an 18 year old female, tall average weight and lately whenever i cross my legs whilst sitting down i find it very uncomfortable for my right knee and it sometimes does a strange cracking sound. i also occasionally get neck and back pains. what could be causing this?
