What Causes Discomfort And Lack Of Sleep In Diabetic Elders?
i am male aged 58, diabetic, underwent angioplasty twice, can t sleep for the past 2days, no chest pain , but feeling very uncomfortable. on checking my blood sugar, bp, ecg, sodium, potassium and chloride levels are normal. what might be the reason for my discomfort?
What kind of discomfort are you experiencing? is it breathlessness, or due to increased stress/ mental tension that you are not able to sleep. sleep problems can be due to several reasons. Think what might be the possible reason any physical symptom or emotional conflict? If all the parameters which you have checked are normal including blood sugar, then maybe you are stressed due to some personal/professional problem. Check if you are sleeping in a comfortable environment that is conducive to sound sleep like keeping your room dark, well-ventilated, and maintaining a comfortable room temperature and humidity levels, no noise. Make sure you sleep on a comfortable mattress and pillow. Have your dinner 2-3 hours before retiring to bed. Try deep breathing for 10 minutes before sleep that will help to relax your mind or listen to soothing music before bedtime. Having a cup of warm milk without sugar before bedtime helps to induce sleep as well.
