Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For the last 5 days, I've had discomfort beneath my rib-cage (directly below the center of the rib-cage)
It almost feels like my tummy is about to let off a huge grumble, as it would do when I?m hungry, but nothing comes of it.
It doesn't hurt as such, but is a constant discomfort. I've pushed, prodded and poked it - No pain, no movement.
What could be affected in this area? What could it be? Gas? Indigestion of some kind?
General & Family Physician, Dr. Krupa.G's Response
Welcome to Healthcare Magic. Hello, the discomfort may be due to 1.Indigestion 2.Strained Muscle 3.Gastritis 4.Gas accumulation Treatment for gastritis usually involves: Taking antacids and other drugs to reduce stomach acid. Avoiding hot and spicy foods. For gastritis caused by H. pylori infection, your doctor will prescribe a regimen of several antibiotics plus an acid blocking drug (used for heartburn).
Indigestion (dyspepsia) happens to almost everyone from time to time. It may cause stomach discomfort or a feeling of being too full. When severe, it can cause heartburn, bloating, nausea, and vomiting. Does- 1.Drink lot of water 2.Eat your food at regular time Dont 1.avoid spicy food 2.avoid tea, coffee, 3.avoid alcohol and smoking
Thanks, Regards, Dr Krupa.G
