Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Discomfort In Chest And Rapid Breathing?
my granddaughter was sliding down a blown up mattress and flew up in the air and landed on another one hitting her butt hard and knocking her wind out of her. Now she is still having discomfort in her chest. Is this something I should be concerned about and her breathing seems rapid. this happened about 2.5 hours ago.
This is secondary to local pain from the trauma. Just give her analgesics like paracetamol or ibuprofen to see the response. If pain and fast breathing does not respond to analgesics, kindly take her to emergency for further evaluation. If feeling better, we need not worry- just continue analgesics for 2- 3 days as needed.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
