What Causes Discomfort In Lower Abdomen While Sleeping With A History Of Constipation?

I have discomfort in lower abdomin, discomfort lying on my back or left side. Also, queasy and history of constipation and now loose stool. This has been ongoing for several weeks. I had a strange bout of joint pain on my right side which lasted for several weeks. My doc couldn t see me, went to Med 7 and was given a dose of steroids. My doc has ordered blood test after steroids are out of system.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* Persistent constipation with occasional diarrhea indicates possible diverticulosis, inflammatory bowel condition, fiber deficiency or others.

* A diagnostic colonoscopy would be best time tested report to be evaluated with expert gastroenterologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
