What Causes Discomfort In The Ankles?

I have osteoporosis diagnosed about 8 months ago. I ve been taking Fosomax weekly since then. I have not injured my ankle, but the inside of my left ankle to about mid calf is super uncomfortable when I walk or stand, not sitting or resting at all. Is it from the disease?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello welcome to the health care magic

For osteoporosis you have been prescribed alendronate drug that is beneficial by preventing bone loss

Continue that drug and check your calcium and vitamin D level also

Calf pain could be from electrolyte imbalance, so check pottasium and sodium level as well

Pain is started with walking, hence rule out peripheral vascular disease with colour doppler and by physical examination if needed

Take care

Hope this will help you

Consult physician for examination and discuss your case
