What Causes Discomfort In The Chest After Choking Up On Food?

I recently choked on a piece of chicken. I managed to clear the obstruction but thereafter, suffered discomfort in the sternum area. Four weeks on, I was at the dentist having routine hygiene treatment when I started to choke again. I couldn t breath for around 30 seconds or so. That was yesterday. I now have worse pain in the sternum area and this hurts very much more when I cough. I am fit, healthy and of a slight build.

dear
i understand that we had a choking, was there some body who helped you out with a back thrust/or Hemlichs manoeuvre as it is called.More over a certain feeling might last for some time but it usually passes away and we are perfectly normal. In a dental chair we have also seen of similar instances.more over I would suggest a general check up of your throat and chest with your physician
Hope this helps
Becare ful and welcome for further queries
