What Causes Discomfort In The Esophagus After Swallowing A Chicken Bone?

Hi there, last night I swallowed what felt like quite a large chicken bone. At first the bone was stuck in my pipe, however after eating and drinking a little, the bone seemed to (somewhat painfully) make it s way down my pipe. I think the bone may have made its way into my stomach, however it still feels like there is something stuck in my esophagus :( It has been 24 hours and I have no difficulty breathing or eating, what are the chances something is still stuck? Thankyou

It is possible to still be stuck but also maybe a scratch in your esophagus. You should get an xray to rule out foreign body. If that's negative, take some pain killers and the scratch will hopefully heal with time.
