What Causes Discomfort In The Head After Consuming Water?

My daughter drinks lots of water, more than 10 12 oz cans in last 6 hours. She feels strange, throbbing in her head and her veins feel distended. She hasn t eaten a lot today and is concerned that she has low sodium in her blood because of all the water. Is there something she should do at home or do we need to consider Dr visit?
