this past week I can be sitting down and all of a sudden I have fluttering right at tip of sternum. Also twice this week I have woken up with pain in area like something is stuck and putting pressure there. I don t eat spicy food, drinks lots of water in fact I have lost 30 pounds since last February.

Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to may reasons like heart valve diseases , cardiomyopathy , coronary artery disease , bronchitis , chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) , tuberculosis , gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) , pancreatitis and xiphodynia . As you have also lost weight , so problem seems to be serious , i would suggest you to consult chest specialist to rule out condition like COPD and tuberculosis . Doctor may order TB blood tests , chest X-ray or a CT scan and sputum test . Doctor may prescribe isoniazid , rifampin and bedaquiline . Doctor may also refer you to cardiologist if the problem will be related with heart .
