What Causes Discomfort In The Urethra During Urination?
I had a UTI a couple months ago and went to the doctor and they gave me antibiotics which helped. I am no longer experiencing extreme pain but I still have this heavy feeling in my urethra after I pee. I am drinking tons of water so I am using the restroom often but I don t have that pee feeling when only a little comes out, everything is pretty normal other than that heavy sting sometimes after I pee. I have also been staying away from sex since this happened to rule that out as a problem.
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.
This may be still residual UTI and pain may persist for up to few weeks after UTI is healed so this should improve. In some cases there may be STD or urethritis as a cause and if there is prolonged pain, you should do swab tests and cystoscopy if required. Till that, try to drink plenty of fluids and raspberry juice to promote urination. I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time. Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
