What Causes Discomfort In The Urethra During Urination?

Hi I have recently had urethral discomfort between frequent quick urinations ( for the last 30 hours) I do have some lower back pain but I believe it to be because of posture habits while studying more recently. I am a 23 yo male 6 foot 5 inches tall and 236 lbs. in the last 6 weeks I have lost 12-14 lbs (I am pretty certain due to increased activity and lighter diet) I believe this could possibly be due to minor dehydration. I am pretty sanitary, but I do wear tighter underwear, so a uti could be a possibility no recent sexual interaction I am wondering if it sounds like symptoms of a uti or other infection

Hi,

These symptoms are suggestive of uroinfection and this is common in your age and usually is manifested with pain during urination, fever and changes in urination frequency.

Also, blood traces may be present in urine which can have odour or colour change.

Other common cause are urinary stones. Diagnosis is established by doing urine analysis and urinoculture and after this antibiotic treatment may be started if necessary.

If there is negative urine analysis then you should do ultrasound of kidneys to check for stones.

You should drink plenty of fluids and take raspberry tea or juice to promote urination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
