What Causes Discomfort Throat Despite Being On Antibiotics For Viral Infection?
I recently had a very bad virus that started about 3 weeks ago.....fever for 4 days,. heavy cough, congestion, stuffy nose etc. I think it may have been the flu...I did get an antibiotic for it and it is stilllingering which makes me think it is a virus....I otherwise feel fine....I am going on with my daily activities, but feel it still hanging on in the back of my thoroat alwasy seeming to need to clear my thoat...But about tow weeks ago I lost my sense of smell and taste...It is VERY slowly coming back but only at about 40 %......Is this normal?
For throat discomfort along with antibiotics you can take some decongestants like diominic-dca or wikoryl every 8-12 hours with chlorhexidine or betadine gargles. You can take syrup ambrodil-s or syrup bro-zedex for soothing of your throat. Do warm water gargles and take steam inhalation to reduce the congestion and discomfort of your throat. Thank You
