What Causes Discomfort Under The Left Rib After Taking Codeine For Diarrhea?

I have been to the Drs and they gave me maxalon for the nausea and a codeine tablet to constipate me and help with the pain. But if I don t take the codeine I have extreme pain and daireah again, I feel I am masking the problem. The question I have is I am short of breath and get exhausted just walking to the car (in driveway) and back, I also quite an annoying discomfort under my left rib. What could this be caused by?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think it would be better if you visit a doctor to listen to his lungs. Using a nebulizer with corticosteroids can be a good choice to calm down this cough.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
