What Causes Discomfortness In The Lower Abdomen?

My 14 year old daughter is having discomfort in the lower right area of abdomen. She says the pain is a 4 and it bothers her when she walks around. She has not had a bowel movement today so I am thinking it is just gas. At what point should I become concerned?
