What Causes Discomforts After Putting IUD?

31 year old female, 2 children, I have had an IUD (copper) for over an year now but I seem to have a lot of uncomfortable feelings in my lower "baby pocket" or where the IUD would be. Not painful but uncomfortable as in cramps or a bloated feeling daily. No my period as not come back from having my last child who is 15 months and I am a breastfeeding mother. I can feel the strings of my IUD but worried its not placed correctly and its causing my discomfort.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Discomfort and mild pain are to be expected after IUD insertion. However, if the pain has developed only recently, then follow up with your ObGyn to see if IUD is in place and rule out any infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
