I have acute discomfort in the area of the cricoid cartilage (not lower) when I try to swallow. I feel a sort of loop of constriction that goes from one ear, through this area of the throat, to the other. Is this a form of laryngitis, do you think? I do not have a sore throat, of the usual sort.
Do you have any history of regurgitation or burning sensation in the throat or gastric reflux? Any history of trauma to the neck like a strangulation injury?
