What Causes Disorientation And Loss Of Appetite In A Diabetic Patient?

Hi. My husband is diabetic and a double bilateral amputee from diabetic complications. Shortly after Christmas, he had a day in which he was confused. He didn t eat much that day, and I attributed it to the fact we had been travelling and in doing so, he was slightly off his routine and schedule. The past couple of days, the confusion has increased. Added to that is some disorientation, difficulty focusing and concentrating, and loss of appetite. He admitted to not eating lunch today and one other day earlier in the week. Having said all that, my question is whether or not I should take him to the ER?
