What Causes Disturbance In Hearing After Cleaning Ear With Q Tip?
While I was cleaning out my ear with a Q tip two days ago I might have gone alittle too far I got a little bit of blood but it didn't hurt much, my hearing is muffled and I feel like I have an ear plug in my ear did I damage my ear drum? Is It Permanent hearing loss?
As per your query you have disturbed hearing after cleaning ear with Q tip . You mush have punctured or injured your ear drum during cleaning as you also mention . Well this usually occur when we try to clean ear forcefully and clean it deeply . Extent or duration of hearing loss depend upon the severity of the injury . Sometimes infection also occur after injury to ear drum , which can also be responsible for hearing loss . I would suggest you to consult otolaryngologist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may examine with otoscope and tuning fork . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with anti inflammatory . In severe cases surgery will be the option like tympanoplasty .
Hope your concern has been resolved. Get Well Soon. Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
