What Causes Dizziness After Taking Pantoprazole?

Every time (7) I ve taken pantoprazole 40 mg, within 15 minutes i am so dizzy I can barely stand and fall asleep for about two hours, within minutes. Today my cardiologist denied there is any relationship between the drug and these effect on me. Is this my imagination or my reality?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dizziness is a very common side effect of pantoprazole. Pantoprazole can cause dizziness after its intake. But dizziness is caused by other illnesses too. Those illnesses need to be ruled out.
1.     Stop pantoprazole
2.     Cinnarizine 25 mg per oral when dizziness occurs
If you do not get relief after stopping pantoprazole then consult your cardiologist for further investigation. Get done an electrocardiogram also.
I hope this information will help you. I will be happy if you ask another question
Thanks
