General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The same hormone that gives some women relief from migraines after menopause can cause more headaches in the months leading up to it. That's because hormone levels such as estrogen and progesterone decline during perimenopause. I suggest to use painkillers such as Ibuprofen to relieve the pain.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
