Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Dizziness Along With Tinnitus And Depression?
I am feeling very dizzy, tired, having problems sleeping, disturbing dreams, extreme sadness, loud ringing in ears and intestinal distress. My health care provider insisted I change from Celexa to Paxil which I did for less than two months because all these symptoms and more were occurring so about 12 days ago I quit taking the Paxil. I felt better for about a week and the symptoms mentioned above started about 2 days ago.
The symptoms you are describing are typical of anxiety and depression. It might be good for you to first have a thyroid test (TSH and FT4) to rule out problems with thyroid as thyroid may affect the way we handle stress and make us more vulnerable.
If the tests come out normal then you may need to go in a step-wise treatment for depression. You have already tried some treatment and because single treatments do not seem effective, I would recommend considering combinations like celexa and mirtazapine, etc.
Treatment of depression needs patience and good cooperation with the doctor. You might also need some CBT and counseling which might help you go through this easier.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
