I was wondering if u could tell my why I get dizzy for no reason. I don t have to move, I can be standing still, watching tv, laying in bed but I get dizzy. It only last for a few seconds and then it s gone. I also have a slight ringing in my ears at times. I am 41 years old. I smoke and my father has had heart problems Just an FYI about me.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to health care magic....

Here according to history otological cause seems most likely ...

You physical examination should be done including measurement of blood pressure and otoscopy examination....

Ear infections like otitis media , labyrinthitis might lead dizziness as sequeal...
If needed for that antibiotic drops or steroid course might needed according to cause ...

Physiotherapy and betahistine also be useful in such case .

If no significant inflammation or infection of ear present than vestibular cause has to be searched and test for that done ..

If still needed EKG and MRI like investigation done ...

Take care

Advise : consult otorhinolaryngologist ...
