What Causes Dizziness And An Altered Sense Of Smell?

Hi I ve not been feeling too well recently. I m under the hospital due to very high bp and am awaiting an echocardiogram. Quite recently I keep feeling lightheaded and dizzy, bizarrely I keep smelling smoke not sure if that means anything or not. Should I be concerned? Also I d like to ask whether drinking alcohol and having very bp could effect how you feel.

Hi,

Though your history is incomplete like age,drugs taken, any lung, liver, kidney or dental problems. Based on your brief history I feel your problem is due to: Probably from drugs for BP like ACE inhibitors may be you are aged and there is degeneration of sense organs with age.

Due to compression of nerves from high BP as are you saying. Alcohol definitely can cause it. Rest all other problems can cause it as I mentioned. I hope you will assess yourself like habits and have general examination so it can be addressed properly.
