What Causes Dizziness And An Altered Sense Of Taste?

My wife continues to have what we call precurser sensations to a dizzy spell and is very uptight about it happening. She derived some help from a maneuver to re-position the crystals in her ear on the right side, but still has these sensations that might lead to dizziness and lead to past worst cases which caused vomiting ( which has not happened in 6 to 7 mos.). Antivert does not help much if any. What do you think? Oh, and she has an unusual taste in her mouth prior to these sensations.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As per my opinion, it's benign positional vertigo (BPV) with episodes of dizziness. So it would be better to treat this BPV.

Sequential bending of the head in four directions will help to resume normal pressure in the ear and relive in symptoms gradually.

Also, take medicine if vomiting persists but try to control vertigo and dizziness first.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
