What Causes Dizziness And Blurred Vision While On HCTZ?
I recently re-started taking my blood pressure medication and I noticed about two to three hours after taking it I feel light headed have kind of cloudy vision and feel very fatigured. my skin also seems flush. do you think this is from the medication? the medication is HCTZ 25mg/lisinopptul 25mg
Yes, the effects look very likely to be caused by the drug. Blood pressure medicine may cause significant drop in BP with first dose (called first pass effect), hence causing dizziness and fainting.
The pill contains two drugs, the lisinopril especially can cause it. So yes it's very likely your drug.
For this reason, we start the drug with a low dose and increase gradually. So you may start with half tablet and make it full in a few days if needed. Another method is to start the drug t at bed time.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
