What Causes Dizziness And Blurred Vision While On Diabetes Medication?
I was diagnosed with type II Diabetes about two years ago. Through lifestyle changes and medications, the last time I had my A1C checked it had reduced down in to the normal catagory. However, lately I have been experienced episodes of dizziness and blurred vision. Does this mean I need to increase or change medications? Is this a sign that my diabetes has worsened to the point my health is in imminent danger?
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Recent episodes of dizziness and blurred vision in a diabetic could be caused by medical conditions like -Hypoglycemia.This is common in people with type 2 diabetes and on sulfamides.Just check your drugs, if on this class of oral anti-diabetic, a possible sulfamide induced hypoglycemia should be eliminated with a blood fasting sugar test. -Poorly controlled glycemia. In this case, you will need dose adjustment of your drugs or a change. -Blurred vision may be caused by a diabetic retinopathy I will suggest you see your Doctor for a fasting blood sugar test. You may also see an Opthlamologist for a fundoscopic exam. Hope this will help Best regards
