What Causes Dizziness And Breathing Difficulty While On Hydrochlorothiazide?

My mom is taking Hydrochlorothiazide 25mg for about 2 weeks now and she s is having a hard time to breathe, weak , dizziness and can t walk far. Prior to this she s been taking diltazem 120mg but her heart rate was low and the dr took her off because she had a TIA. Then they stop giving her high blood pressure pills until recently they put on Hydroclorothiazide 25 mg. Is the medication she s taking making her feel this way or is it more serious?

Hydrochlorothiazide can cause dizziness by too much lowering blood pressure. However, the associated symptoms of breathlessness is concerning. Cardiac problems and coronary artery disease needs to be addressed. EKG is warranted at this point.Please be advised to follow up with the emergency room as soon as possible. Meanwhile, give your mother 2 aspirin tablets if available at home.
