What Causes Dizziness And Chest Discomfort While Suffering From Hypertension?

My husband has been diagnosed with high blood pressure. He is very active , just turned 53 5 10 weighs 212 . We have been watching what he eats but he has been having these spells after exercise where he gets dizzy, light headed, and tightness in his chest..he says it feels like his heart stops beating or gets out of rhythm. He went to emergency after two of these spells happened at work... first time his blood pressure was 200/90 ...and he couldn t breathe. They checked his heart and there were no issues so they put him on the bp meds. 4 days later he went back with the same issue... they checked heart again..nothing so they changed the bp meds and told him to follow up with primary care dr. Think we should see a cardiologist?

Cardiac issues are important concern here. If in the emergency room only an EKG was done, I recommend getting cardiac stress done to rule out Angina.
24 hour Holter monitor also needs to be done to rule out any underlying rhythm abnormalities. Meanwhile, please take daily aspirin 75 mg if you are not at increased bleeding risk like recent surgery, bleeding disorder, bleeding stomach ulcer, intracranial bleed. Continue antihypertensive medication and avoid too strenuous activity to the point of developing symptoms.
Please be advised to follow up with a cardiologist to undergo necessary evaluation.
