What Causes Dizziness And Clogged Ears?

Hi Dr. Sumit. I listen to a lot of music on my headphones. At first my head would just sometimes get dizzy but later onwards my head would start to hurt. Last night I slept with my left ear in contact with the bed and my right ear was facing upwards towards the ceiling. When I woke up my left ear was clogged. Any help on this ? What should I do ?

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, it can be temporary due to blockage of eustachian tube due to ear pressure if sleeping over it if had any suction effects on eardrum and may resolve spontaneously.

Try chewing bubble gum at the left side to help it open. If the issue persists, an otolaryngologist review to look for any wax impaction and eardrum patency should be done.

Listening to music in this much high sound that it starts to cause headaches isn't healthy at all. You may develop irreparable damage if you continued to do so.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
