What Causes Dizziness And Excessive Facial Sweating While Having Hypertension?

I woke up one night last week and the room was spinning and i sat up but could not stand without tilting, then i started dripping sweat from my face, felt a little sick for a few secs , this went on for 3 to 5 mins then it passed and i went to sleep, i suffer from hypertension and take pb meds. after this i have felt dizzy for a few seconds a couple of times, it felt like i do when i have an iner ear infection but it was more intense the night the room was spinning and the sweating I have never had with the inner ear. It will be another mnth before i can see my heart doctor

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM,

Understanding your concern.As per your query you have symptoms of dizziness and excessive facial sweating while having hypertension which is mainly due to side effects of certain medicine like BP medicine . There can also be other conditions like fainting , middle ear infection , labyrinthitis , diabetes, type 2 , heart rhythm disorder or transient ischemic attack . I would suggest consult cardiologist and discuss about the condition . Doctor may alter the dose or prescribe substitute . Doctor may also refer you to endocrinologist for condition like hyperthyroidism. Take diet rich in fruits , vegetables and drink plenty of water to prevent body from dehydration. Take lemon juice as well along with salt and sugar added in it.
