What Causes Dizziness And Fatigue While On Metoprolol?

i have COPD and AZMA.I am taking Metoprolol ER 50 MG and 25 MG TAB ACT daily for long time.I have Pace maker and had QUOD RUPLE bypass heart surgery. 2-3-hrs after i take my medication i get dizzi ,light headed,tired,week,hard to breed,and pain on my left chest. Would this medication the cause ??

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You are right, Metoprolol and ACT can cause low BP, and hence make you feel. I would advise you should check you BP and pulse during such episodes, if its low then you should talk to your doctor he may change it or may need to reduce the dose. They can also cause postural drop, so you also check your BP on sitting and standing if there is more than 10 point drop in your BP on standing this may also be caused by the drug, and may need to change the timing and dose of the drug.
