Hi ,I ve been a vegetarian for about 2 years and well recently I have been feeling dizzy when I get up from lying down . I ve been a bit drained and have been feeling g anxious about things and started todag i noticed my hairs coming out in strands . (only today)Also I have white blobs inside my fingernails ice had this for ages but due to everything else I m starting to think I may have an iron deficiency .
Yes, iron deficiency (anemia) should be ruled out. Anemia can cause fatigue, dizziness, palpitations, difficulty in swallowing, brittle nails, heavy menstrual bleeding. Kindly check your blood hemoglobin levels.Based on the severity of anemia, blood transfusion, oral or inject-able iron should be administered. Increase iron, vitamin B12 and folic acid rich food. Monitor hemoglobin and reticulocyte counts every month until normal.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
