What Causes Dizziness And Heart Palpitations After Taking Meloxicam?
My wife, age 49, a smoker, 5 3 , 155 lbs or so is having unusual heart fluttering, she feels a bit dizzy, hard to focus her attention. Not particularly nauseous. There is a specifc spot on her sternum she says is like a pulled muscle (not painful but not comfortable). She takes myloxicam for knee arthritis. Takes one a day vitamins. Nothing else. The unusual hear beat & dizziness happens off & on for the past few moths. Prior to today she had felt pretty good for a few weeks. Today is an unusually dizzy / rapid heartbeat. Any suggestions?

Sudden onset of irregular heart beats which results in symptoms like dizziness needs to be checked out.
Meloxicam taken over a long period could cause gastric irritation and ulcers which could bleed Internally which could produce black stools .
however any alteration In heart rhythm could signal underlying cardiac pathology. please get it checked, irregular heartbeat or too rapid a beat could result in inadequate blood flow to vital organs like brain, kidney. prolonged irregular beats can cause stasis of blood in the body and heart and predispose to clot formation.
If diagnosed early, complications can be prevented.
