Hello,
Heaviness at the back of the head is commonly caused by stress, nasal sinus, cervicogenic causes,
occipital neuralgia,
migraine, etc. Cervicogenic causes lead to heaviness of the head associated with
dizziness. Get clinically examined by a GP, get imaging (X-ray, CT/MRI) done. You will be accordingly treated for the cause. You may need muscle relaxants. In the meantime, take caution for the neck. You can use neck collar for relief. Get connected to a Physical therapist,
physiotherapy is helpful. Daily massage is also helpful.
Take steam inhalation. Steam inhalation can help release pressure from sinuses, and reduce the pressure in the back of your head. Since you also have
eye infection, get clinically examined by an Eye Specialist to rule out damage in occipital nerves that may be causing pressure in the back of the head. You are suggested not to do any heavy work, do not drive, take rest. Stay well hydrated & eat well to keep vitals normal.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
