Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
history of PSVT in 2011, Needed to have cardioversion and heart rate spikes to 280 BPM. Had cardiac ablation AV node. over last 3 years some minimal palpiations but no significant symptoms. yesterday while playing miniature golf in he hot weather started feeling light headed, pain in shoulder blade, pulse felt rapid and unsteady, heart rate fast. got home and took BP 140/96 I usually run low and heart rate at 140. This took about an hour to calm down BP dropped to 126/85 and pulse down to 112 resting. I felt tired and light headed into today. Should I be concerned?
It is important to differentiate whether those unpleasant feelings including shoulder pain are due to a PSVT recurrence or from possible cardiac ischemia.
Other reasons should be sought as well. Coming to this point I recommend discussing with your attending doctor on the possibility of performing a cardiac checkup including a resting ECG, cardiac enzymes and eventually a cardiac stress test.
In addition, a close monitoring of your blood pressure values is required to conclude on an anti-hypertensive therapy decision.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
