What Causes Dizziness And Nausea In A 25-year-old?
a 25 year old woke up extremely dizzy. any movement and she gets real dizzy no fever but causes her to feel like she needs to vomit. Should she go be checked at ER . She is currently being seen for gall bladder stones and awaiting a call back from ther GI specialist for surgery
Dizziness can be associated with nausea. It is most commonly related to the inner ear though there are other causes as well.
The most common inner ear causes are: (1) BPPV- Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (2) Meniere's disease (3) Vestibular neuritis- this is the most common reason
The use of medicines such as Diazepam, Dramamine, and Meclizine etcetera can help. They should be used for only a few days only. If it continues, then she should be seen.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Michelle Gibson James
