What Causes Dizziness And Nausea While On Lithium And Lamictal?

My husband started lithium and lamictal 2 weeks ago. After we increased the dosage he started feeling very ill. Sweating, severe dizziness, nausea etc. the psychiatrist changed the lamictal to latuda yesterday. Last night he fainted and came down w a rash all over his body today and continued w all other symptoms. I took him to the hospital. He was running a fever by then, his color changed to red in his face and his neck swelled up as the rash got worse. All his lab results were with in normal limits. The urine sample came back showing a bladder infection. The doctor said he had a virus with a secondary infection. They gave him antibiotics, Benadryl, steroids and a nausea medication. Do you think he could be allergic to Latuda?

hi mam,your observation is apt.the symptoms strongly point at hypersensitivity for latuda.please report this to tne psychiatrist such that he can think of either drug change or dosage modification.latuda also causes body temperature variations,suicidal tendencies.it has got interactions with many other drugs.so just review other drugs he has been using.close observation is advised when latuda is started or dosage is changed or it is stopped.grape fruit and grape fruit juice are to be avoided coadmiinistering with latuda.so please notify your psychiatrist.if any queries,i'm ready to attend.thank you.take care.bye.
