What Causes Dizziness And Nausea?

Hi, my mom is 90 years old and in pretty good shape. She does get vertigo. I came home from work yesterday and she was a little dizzy and nauseous. We thought it was her vertigo. She slept last night and this morning seemed better. I went to work, called at lunch time and she said she was a little queasy but feeling better. She looked good when I got home from work. But soon after we started eating dinner, she started to get nauseous again and then told me she is constipated. I am guessing this is not vertigo. I have Pepto Bismal but was afraid to give her because it said call a doctor if there is nausea. I have her sipping water as frequently as she can stand to. She also had a runny nose all day. Should I give her the pep? What else can I do until morning when I can take her to the doctor?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I think she needs to go to ENT doctor for ear cleaning to remove wax. The doctor will examine her if there is a problem with her middle ear or inner ear. You can give her any antihistamines such Benadryl or Cetirizine to help with symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
