What Causes Dizziness And Pain In Throat After Swallowing Bleach?

Hi, my friend just called me saying she swallowed bleach but she is telling me not to tell anyone and I just don t know what to do. She said she swallowed two gulps or two sips, I cant remember. She claims her throat is burning a little, her head is hurting a little, its hard for her to think or remember things, and she feels a little light headed. Should I be worried? If I dont tell anyone, will she die? Can you please tell me what will happen to her, Im so scared and confused:(

Hi,

As per your query you symptoms of dizziness and pain in throat after swallowing bleach which is due to exposure to bleach fumes which seems to be due to volatile bleach contents which can lead to allergic reaction. These fumes can cause a respiratory problem along with nervous symptoms such as headaches and dizziness. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult a general physician for proper examination and rule out condition like poisoning. Doctor may prescribe anti emetic drug, antihistamine medications and can give steroid injection as well. For now take some fresh air and drink plenty of water.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
