What Causes Dizziness And Pain On The Base Of The Skull?

I have felt a little dizzy on and off for a couple of weeks. In addition, the back of my neck/base of skull is a little stiff and achy. Although I have no decrease hearing, there are times I cannot pop my ears. I have no pain in my ears. I show no signs of being ill...no chest or sinus congestion, no fever. I am non-insulin dependent. I take 10 mg of Glipizide, Nabumatone (anti-inflame) for 2 years and have take Belviq for 3 months. I am concerned it is my heart.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical judgement, the dizziness and pain on the base of the skull may indicate possible development of narrowing of cervical disc spaces involving intervertebral region from chronic diabetes. An x-ray of the cervical spine is better to get further tested here.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Purva Patel, General & Family Physician
