What Causes Dizziness And Palpitations While Suffering From Rheumatoid Arthritis?

I am a 52 year old woman with Rheumatoid arthritis. The past few nights, I have awakened to a rapid heartbeat, strange fluttering feeling in chest and dizziness. I have the same feeling now along with extreme thirst and a funny taste in my mouth. Am I having a heart attack?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Very likely you are having a panic attack causing you the rapid heart, fluttering feeling in the chest, dizziness, dry mouth and thirst. These are very common with anxiety.
You will need to talk to your doctor and have a check just to make sure your heart is fine but very likely the doctor will give you medications for anxiety.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
